Class Hours: 3 Lab/Discussion: 0 Credits: 3 Prerequisite: BIOL 203 Description: Explains concepts and techniques involved in modern biotechnology as it relates to genome engineering. Understands the principles and techniques governing the gene editing tools such as CRISPR in microbiology, agriculture, animal sciences, and human health. Emphasizes acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to undertake gene editing using CRISPR. Addresses issues concerning their ethical, legal, and social implications in the United States and the world.
