Prerequisite: None Corequisite: None Restriction: None Description: Critiques media portrayals of African issues to explore the complexity and diversity of people’s lives in sub-Saharan Africa and the diaspora. Investigates the legacies of colonialism, the dynamics of wildlife conservation, resource extraction, and refugee aid, and the resilience of African communities in defining their place in local, national, and global contexts.
