Catalog description
Designed to introduce an understanding of reading and language arts instruction in elementary classrooms with a focus on Grades K-2. Reading 1 develops practices that support students' literacy learning and in planning and implementing a meaningful literacy program in elementary classrooms. Notes: Course may be repeated only once in order to receive a passing grade Prerequisites: Admission into the Teacher Education Program (BCP I) and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Corequisites: ELED 291: Inquiry into Teaching K-2.
