The study of the structure and physiology of microorganisms and their relation to health, sanitation, agriculture, and industry. A general course for students majoring in areas other than life sciences. Prerequisites: Successful completion of or concurrent enrollment in BIO 274L; One lecture/lab pair from the following: CHEM 100/100L; CHEM 103/103L; CHEM 104/104L; CHEM 105/105L; CHEM 106/106L.
