Catalog description
This course emphasizes time-based media. Students will develop motion graphic works using compositing, 2D digital animation, digital drawing/painting, and interactive sculpture/installation using various software and other physical materials/techniques while exploring intersections between digital and traditional studio practices. Contemporary theory examining the cultural impact and history of digital art will be discussed. The class will investigate narrative structures through experiments in linear and hypertextual navigation with the time-based and sequential capabilities of the computer. Prerequisites: ARTS 350 or consent of instructor. Repeatability: May be repeated once for credit.
