Catalog description

Interdisciplinary survey of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual histories, politics, and cultures. Examines struggles for LGBTQIA+ rights as they intersect with social-justice issues pertaining to race, class, citizenship, age, and ability. Topics include identities and subcultures before-and-after medical models of sexuality and gender, liberation movements, AIDS activism, nature-nurture interplay, and queer art, literature, and popular culture.
