Catalog description

Current methods and materials for the teaching of 3rd – 8th grade. This course is designed to provide students with the materials, procedures, methods, techniques, and foundational knowledge needed to successfully teach in the general music setting, 3rd – 8th grades. Students will learn to teach through “doing.” The relationship between “musicking,” developing musicianship, and content knowledge will be stressed. Clinical experience: 15 hours. Note: Clinical hours are outside of class time and within class assignments. Prerequisites: MUS 195, TCH 210, and 212. Criminal Background Check required.
