Catalog description

Introduces economics as a practical toolkit for public decision‑making. Through case studies, students learn to interpret policy evidence and evaluate what works in U.S. policy—and for whom—by examining incentives, institutional context, and the distribution of benefits and burdens across communities. Topics span major policy areas such as housing, healthcare, education, climate and environmental justice, labor and immigration, poverty and welfare programs, criminal justice, and technology. Emphasis on developing transferable skills in evaluation, clear communication, and professional collaboration.
