Catalog description

This course examines how cultures have imagined death, mourning, and justice in response to violence, punishment, mass death, and wrongful loss. Through literature, religious texts, philosophy, visual art, film, memorials, and ritual, students analyze how communities interpret death, express grief, and address accountability across global contexts.
