This course will guide your investigation of the city’s urban fabric, including the houses, shops, baths, and temples used by its inhabitants. We will look at Pompeii’s urban design, public and private buildings and their decoration, and at the wider cultural, geographical, and historical contexts of the art produced by and for its residents.
