Catalog description
This course explores the biology, ecology, and identification of woody and non-woody plant species within diverse ecosystems. Students will study how anatomical and physiological characteristics of plants interact with environmental factors to influence their growth, distribution, and ecological roles. Emphasis will be placed on identifying and classifying trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants, while considering how plant communities provide critical habitat components for wildlife. Prerequisite(s): SC 240 .
