Neurorehabilitation: Research & Evidence-Based Practice

Catalog description
This course explores the impact of central and peripheral neurologically based conditions on performance skills supporting occupational engagement. Students examine both formal and informal assessments used in the evaluation of cognitive, perceptual, communication, and motor dysfunction. The course covers evidence based interventions and rehabilitative approaches for working with clients who have experienced neurologically based conditions. Integration of previous foundation content with intervention content require students to demonstrate emerging critical thinking and clinical reasoning. Students engage in learning activities including lecture, group activities, role playing, and experiential learning. Prerequisite(s): OT 331 and OT 449 and OT 450 .
