Catalog description

This course provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate an understanding the principles of teaching and learning and to apply the principles as teaching assistants in an academic or community setting. The course includes online, asynchronous instruction in learning theory, instructional design, and course development. Students utilize the knowledge and skills acquired to integrate evidence into practice and demonstrate professional reasoning. Professional identity, entry-level leadership, values and ethics are reinforced through content specific to professional boundaries and responsibilities, board certification, liability and state licensure laws.
