Catalog description

In this course, students explore the impact of the physical and social conditions of the client on occupational therapy engagement. Students are also given an opportunity to explore the relationship between socio-cultural forces and the physical environment as well as their impact on meaningful participation for individuals with disabilities. Interventions include a wide range of assistive technologies (AT) and environmental adaptations that allow a person to function more fully. Finally students have the opportunity to identify social and environmental barriers to inclusion in the community and identify strategies to transform these barriers through the application of leadership principles.
