Catalog description

Juvenile Justice covers the causes of juvenile delinquency and the need to ensure public safety. This course emphasizes the unique constitutional requirements of police, courts, and correctional agencies when an adolescent may be involved in an alleged crime. Attention is given to the history of the juvenile justice system, schools as stakeholders, the proposals for reform, rehabilitation and juvenile delinquency prevention. Prerequisite(s): CJ 101 or PL 100 .
