Catalog description

In this course, students examine the factors affecting exchange rates, the different types of exchange rate systems, and how governments attempt to influence exchange rates. The relationships among interest rate parity, purchasing power parity, the Fisher effect, and the International Fisher effect, and exchange rates are analyzed. Students learn how currency futures, currency options, and money market hedges are used to hedge exchange rate risk. Prerequisite(s): BA 362 .
