Catalog description

A study of the principles of ultrasound instruments, modes of operation, operator control options, frequency selection, echogenic properties, scanning motions and planes, patient scheduling, and patient preparations are a few of the areas to be covered. A review of correlating diagnostic images will also be covered on both areas of the abdomen and obstetrics and gynecology. A lecture series on professional ethics, communication skills, patient’s rights, educational psychology, and computer basics will also be covered. OPEN ONLY to matriculated Diagnostic Medical Sonography students. Pre-requisite(s): 2 yrs. of Allied Health, B.S. Degree, or M.D.
