Adolescent Psychology

Catalog description

This is a course in developmental psychology that focuses on the adolescent period of life. The experience of adolescence as a distinct period of development is examined with social, historical and cultural contexts. The course provides an overview of theory and research in adolescent development. Topics include psychosocial and cognitive development, physical maturation, identity, gender and intimacy, achievement, peer and family influences, school and work experience, as well as related issues and problems. Pre-requisite(s): PSYC 100 General Psychology .
