Catalog description

This course will provide an introduction to the basic principles of invasive cardiovascular technology. Topics include sterile technique, hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic cardiovascular procedures and operation of equipment used to perform testing in the cardiac catheterization lab. OPEN ONLY Open only to matriculated Invasive Cardiovascular Technology students. Pre-requisite(s): RESP 101 Basic Interpretation and Performance of The Electrocardiogram with a final grade of “C” or better or equivalent experience; American Heart Association Basic Life Support, Course C for Health Care Providers. Co-requisite(s): ICVT 211 Invasive Cardiovascular Technology Clinic I .
