History Internship

Catalog description
This internship provides students with the opportunity to work and observe professional employment in the history field. Through placements in museums, curation labs, historic sites or historical societies, students will gain practical experience as a historian. This course may be repeated for credit provided students participate in different internship placements. The course is typically offered for three (3) credits, but students may earn up to 12 credits under certain circumstances with permission of faculty and the department chair. • 200A Archives • 200B Public History • 200C Museum or Historical Site • 2000 Other Internship Pre-requisite(s): HIST 100 Western Civilization and The World I or HIST 101 Western Civilization and The World II and HIST 110 Interpretations of American History I or HIST 111 Interpretations of American History II with a grade of “B” or higher. Permission of the department chairperson and instructor.
