Catalog description

This is a first course in classical thermodynamics. First law and second law for open and closed systems, energy, and power and refrigeration cycles will be discussed. Students will gain a basic understanding of energy interactions in different devices and cycles. It is assumed that students entering this course are familiar with the fundamentals of thermometry and calorimetry. Students will not receive credit for both ENGR 222 and ENGR 223. (
