Mechanics of Materials Lab

Catalog description

This class is in addition to Mechanics of Materials. Mechanics of Materials Lab deals with applying the theory of the relationship between forces applied to bodies and the resulting stresses and deformations. In the laboratory, students perform ASTM testing and reporting on a chosen material. Included in the course are data acquisition, analysis and presentation methods using the latest software packages. Pre-requisite(s): MATH 165 Basic Calculus with Analytic Geometry , ENGR 209 Statics , PHYS 135 Technical Physics I , and MECT 105 Engineering Materials or CIVL 114 Construction Materials Co-requisite(s): ENGR 216 Mechanics of Materials
