Catalog description
Community Dental Health is designed to provide the student with the fundamentals of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating public health care, while focusing on Community Dental Health. Emphasis will be on reading scientific literature, quantitative methods, community health education, service learning, and partnerships with community health agencies. The student will explore local, state, federal and international programs relating to public health. Students will be required to complete a public health service learning project. OPEN ONLY Open only to matriculated Dental Hygiene students. Pre-requisite(s): DHYG 111 Introduction to Community Dental Services ; DHYG 230 Preventive Dentistry III ; and DHYG 231 Clinical Dental Hygiene II . Co-requisite(s): DHYG 216 Oral Care for People Living with Special Needs ; DHYG 240 Preventive Dentistry IV ; DHYG 241 Clinical Dental Hygiene III .
