Catalog description

This interactive course introduces the student to the basic principles and practices of preventive dental hygiene. Emphasis will be on the laboratory application of the basic principles of instrumentation, tooth morphology, occlusion, infection control and professional conduct. The student will develop competence in patient assessment techniques including medical/dental history, recognition and examination of orofacial structures and hard tissue dental findings. OPEN ONLY Open only to matriculated Dental Hygiene students. Co-requisite(s): BIOL 135 Oral Histology and Embryology and DHYG 105 Tooth Morphology and Occlusion . Lab and course fees will be required
