Catalog description

This course provides students with a theoretical and practical knowledge of interventionalprocedures. It will include an overview of the Seldinger technique of vascular access forvascular procedures and examine the history that led to its development. Course content alsoprovides an overview of vascular correlation and surgical/ interventional repair for specificcongenital and acquired diseases. The content presents a systematic approach to thetechniques and procedures technologists use in the performance of select cardiac-interventional procedures. Pre-requisite(s): ECHO 256 Anatomy and Physiology of The Heart and CVIT 252 Patient Care for Cardiovascular Interventional Technology Co-requisite(s): CVIT 262 Imaging Skills for Cardiovascular Interventional Technology and CVIT 268 Cardiovascular Interventional Technology Clinic II
