Catalog description

This course is designed to combine voluntary experience with academic learning and will require a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service within the semester. This field experience includes observation, and/or participation at a community service agency or funeral home. In addition, students must keep a written log of their experiences and attend a weekly seminar to discuss and integrate related reading and volunteer work. Evaluation by the placement supervisor is also required. Co-requisite(s): BRVT 220 Advanced Bereavement Studies . Pre- or co- requisite(s): MTSC 200 Psychology of Grief , BRVT 205 Funeral Service Counseling , PSYC 215 Psychology of Personal Adjustment .
