New Testament Exegesis

Catalog description

An introduction to exegetical theory and practice as well as issues of hermeneutics. Primary emphasis is on the practical, step-by-step process of analyzing a text and explaining what it meant in its original historical and literary contexts. Secondary e mphasis is on moving from text to application--what it means today. A knowledge of Greek is useful but not required. Either this course or “Old Testament Exegesis” will satisfy the basic MDiv, MTS requirement in exegesis. Pre - requisites: BST 112 and 113. 81
