Section information text: NUR 1119 – Nursing I (Prerequisites: BIO 2514 & 2524, BIO 2924, & FCS 1253/BIO 1613). Foundation for all subsequent nursing courses. Introduction to nursing and to the philosophy and conceptual framework of the Holmes Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program. Emphasis is placed on normal, basic human needs. Fundamental nursing skills are taught and practiced in the learning laboratory and applied in clinical settings. Introduction to pharmacology and to the calculation of dosages and solutions is included. Five hours lecture. Twelve hours laboratory. Nine hours credit.
