This course provides knowledge of the typicalbehaviors of young children at each stage ofdevelopment, environmental influences affectingtheir behavior, and the practice of positiveguidance principles by adult caregivers. Resources include the Mississippi Department ofHealth Regulations Governing Licensure ofChildcare Facilities, Mississippi Early LearningStandards, the Infant Toddler Standards, InfantToddler Environmental Rating Scale Revised(ITERS-R), and Early Childhood EnvironmentalRating ScaleRevised (ECERS-R). Lab activities will beimplemented during Practicum I and Practicum 2.
