Catalog description

A foundation course in the theory and principles of child development which concentrates on the physical, emotional, social and intellectual (cognitive) growth patterns from prenatal through adolescence. Emphasis is placed on the interaction of these developmental aspects. Theories studied will emphasize the development of the child in the context of gender, family, culture, and society and will include Skinner, Erikson, Piaget, Vygotsky, and others.
