MA Externship ((6 Credit Hours))

Catalog description

This course provides an opportunity for practical application of information and skills learned in the campus portion of the program. Students are required to complete 160 hours of work as a medical assistant over a 16 week period of time in a medical facility. Students will be evaluated every four weeks and at the end of the externship on their performance in the health care facility. The site location process is a guided, cooperative effort between the college and the individual student and is instituted at an appropriate time during the program. All sites are required to have approval of the Externship Coordinator.
