Catalog description
This course acts as a survey of global environmental problems in which humans are playing a significant role. In order to best convey these complex issues, this course will incorporate the basic physical and ecological principles of the Earth's environmental systems as well as an historical perspective on the environmental movement and resource use. By the end of this course, students should be able to: 1) identify and describe major global environmental problems, 2) critically evaluate scientific studies and arguments, 3) possess an "international" perspective on global environmental problems and 4) apply and relate the material covered in this course to their lives.
