Catalog description

Introduces elements of music, after which the chronological development of musical forms and genres are traced through guided listening and study of representative compositions. An understanding of the changing forms and the makeup of music is acquired. Additional emphasis is placed on the influence of society and other arts on musical trends. This course may be used to meet the general educational Fine Arts requirement; no credit is given to music majors. IAI Code: F1 900
