Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to the strategies, principles, and techniques of behavior management. The course also provides a basic understanding of the social, cultural, emotional, motivational and environmental factors and issues which influence student behavior and development. Strategies, techniques and principles to promote self-esteem, autonomy and self-regulation will be discussed and reviewed through assignments based on school field experiences and current research based readings. Candidates will be required to spend at least ten hours in school classrooms.
