Introduction to Sport Management

Catalog description

The course will examine the historical development, current trends, best practices and future trends of sport management. Principles will be taught within the framework of professional, collegiate, interscholastic, non-traditional, youth and community sport in areas to include: 1) the history of sport management and current curriculum, 2) careers in sport management, 3) marketing, 4) ethics, 5) management, 6) communications, 7) facility design, and 8) sociology.
