Catalog description

This course introduces basic psychopharmacology and the effects of different psychoactive substances on the human body and mind; how drugs impact physical and psychological wellness and ill-health. The course reflects on biological, psychological and sociological factors involved in drug-seeking and maintaining behavior; and also looks at treatment, recovery, and prevention methods that are effective recuperating drug-user’s health. Issues pertaining to legal and illegal drug use, abuse and dependency will also be covered.
