Catalog description

This course introduces basic nursing concepts and skills that serve as the foundation for professional nursing practice. Emphasis is placed on creating a safe and effective care environment, promoting health and wellness, and maintaining psychosocial and physiological integrity. Students will develop critical thinking skills while learning and applying the nursing process to provide patient-centered care. The course also explores therapeutic communication techniques and teaching- learning principles to support effective nurse-client and family relationships. Students will use these skills to develop and implement basic plans of care.
