Catalog description

This course is an introduction to health care delivery systems, associated career opportunities, and related trends. It examines the industry as a whole and the integration of services and professions with an emphasis on rehabilitative therapy as well as strength and conditioning. Students explore career choices including educational requirements, job outlooks, governing agencies, occupational requirements, pay ranges, professional requirements, and employer expectations. This course will also include orientation into OSHA guidelines and infection control, as well as introduce the student to professional certifications and organizations, such as the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.
