This course builds upon the foundational SMAW pipe welding skills introduced in WELD 126 and focuses on advanced procedures and field-level applications. Students will refine precision techniques in multiple positions (1G, 2G, 5G, 6G) on a range of pipe diameters and wall thicknesses while troubleshooting defects and evaluating weld quality to industry (AWS/API) standards. Emphasis is placed on weld certification preparation, interpretation of complex blueprints, alloy and material variations, and professional field practices involving both Non-Destructive and Destructive Testing methods.
