Catalog description

This course will examine various theories of gender role development and persistence in society. Topics will include the impact of the socialization of females and males and their roles in the various social institutions including but not limited to: the labor market, politics, marriage, the family, religion, education and government. The course will also examine how the design of feminism and masculinity in society affects how power is allocated to individuals based on his or her gender.
