Catalog description
This is an introductory course in radiologic technology providing an overview of the foundations of Radiography and the practitioner’s role in health care delivery. Principles, practices and policies of health care organizations are examined and discussed in addition to the professional responsibilities of the radiographer. Content introduces concepts of optimal patient care, including consideration for physical and psychological needs of the patient and family, effective communication, and cultural diversity. Also examined are: introduction to Radiation protection, MRI safety, introduction to infection control practices, introduction to mobile and surgical radiography, safety and transfer, Medical ethics and law.
