Catalog description

An introduction to the history of philosophy from the ancient Greeks to the end of the medieval era. This course will examine key ideas of various major philosophers from the Western tradition including the philosophers of Athens (the Pre-Socratics, Socrates, the Sophists, Plato, and Aristotle), the Hellenistic philosophers (the Epicureans, Stoics, and Skeptics), and the medieval religious philosophers (Augustine, Anselm, and Aquinas).
