Catalog description

This course in medical-surgical nursing focuses on clients with complex alterations in fluid and electrolytes, cellular regulation, immunity, infection, tissue integrity, metabolism, and advocacy. Critical thinking pathways will be utilized to make clinical judgments when caring for clients with complex health problems. Faculty-supervised campus laboratory and clinical experiences will provide an opportunity for students to analyze the depth and breadth of the nursing role in complex situations in health care. Planned faculty-supervised experiences in acute care facilities provide students with the opportunity to implement leadership and management concepts with their peers, as well as providing care to individuals with complex health problems.
