Catalog description

This course is designed to provide nursing students with a systematic review of medications and various methods of calculating dosages. Students will develop an understanding of basic pharmacology principles and calculation methods to safely administer medications. Topics include basic pharmacology, systems of measurement to safely calculate dosages, and basic medication administration principles. Critical thinking applied to safe administration of medications will be emphasized throughout the course. This course does not fulfill the general education mathematics requirement(s) for either the A.A. degree or the A.S. degree.
