Catalog description

This is an advanced course in music with variable content that is focused on research, theory, and application in a particular area of music (such as critical theory and the study of music, theory and practice of the blues, film music, etc.). Readings will center on current developments in the study of music and may have an interdisciplinary, social, scientific, ethnographic, and/or critical perspective. Because topics and research studied will change each semester, MUSI 296 may be repeated for a total of six credits toward graduation.
