Catalog description
This course focuses on mathematical reasoning and the solving of real-life problems, rather than on routine skills and appreciation. An in-depth study of several mathematical topics will be covered, including the study of elementary counting techniques and probability, basic statistics, and one or two other topics chosen from the following list: Graph Theory, Linear Programming, Geometry, Logic/Set Theory, Mathematical Modeling, or Finance. A scientific calculator is required for this course (a graphing calculator is also acceptable). Instruction will be based on a TI-30XIIS.
