Catalog description

This course is an exploration of why humans have problems creating perfect places on earth, and, in fact, often end up creating the exact opposite. Students will read and analyze representative literary and visual texts in order to examine the various political ideologies that struggle for dominance around the globe. Students will also investigate historical and cultural relationships in order to understand how they relate to each other and to the societies from which they developed.
