Organic agriculture for plant products is a method of production that aims to obtain quality food products while respecting the environment in the production process. This means coordinating the elements used in farming and ensuring the “renaturalization” of an environment compromised by intensive agriculture. Managing a farm that uses the organic agriculture philosophy entails using new operational techniques that permit productivity and quality, and respecting the constraints imposed by legislation, and at the same time optimizing business profitability. The course includes experiential learning with seasonal activities at a local farm and facilities, horticultural cultivation in Spring and olive harvest and pressing in Fall.
