Interdisciplinary survey of the significant intellectual and artistic achievements of several non-Western cultures (Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America) through selected works of literature, philosophy, visual art, and music and other performing arts, as well as a comparative examination of their values, motifs, and aesthetics with those of Western cultural expression.
