Catalog description

The focus of this course is exploring the concept of providing community-based support services to individuals with behavioral health disorders. Concepts that will be addressed are the concept of recovery support, levels of advocacy, behaviors that support healthy recovery, person-centered approach to care, and mentoring individuals newly in recovery. Students will also learn to advocate within systems to assist individuals to obtain holistic care.
